Turnovers

Postby Mustangs35SMU » Sat Oct 22, 2005 5:23 pm

It's obvious what is losing us all these games.

Last season..we were HORRIBLE in the turnover category.

This season, in our two wins we been a + in both of them..

And in our six losses we been a - in the turnover category.

Fix the turnovers..And you'll fix SMU, not to mention a new Offensive Cord.

One has to have mentally tough players that will hold on to the ball. We don't have that. It's as if we have a happy go lucky high school team that seems to think holding on to the ball is an option. Turnovers have to stop and we need players that will not put the ball on the ground. Is there a player on the SMU team that we can absolutely count on to not fumble?

Only the ones they choose to leave on the bench.

...how does one become a metantly tough player, exacxtly? Born with it, learned behavior...can a recruiter spot this in a pimple faced 17 year old? Educate me on this...

Ridiculous. SMU was much better about TO's on the plus side in the beginning of the season, seems to be getting worse...

Before the Marshall game, I posted about the need to limit mistakes and turnovers and got blasted for spouting coaching cliches. But this is the single most problem the team has this year - we would have beat Marshall if it wasn't for the turnovers.

We would have beaten ECU, and Tulsa as well.
