No, we're not in it this week. Good to see that Duke still s*cks. I was getting tired of NW'ern, Tulane, BYU, Boston College, Notre Dame, and even now Stanford all having more wins than us.

Yeah, but Duke might get better fairly quickly. Didn't they have a great recruiting class, including some monster DT from Texas? Thankfully, they play in the ACC, so they'll be the N.C. version of Vanderbilt -- they might have one mildly decent year every 10 years or so. Other than that, they should remain at the bottom of their conference's food chain. And that's a good thing, because I hate Duke.

Much rather be in the bottom of the ACC food chain every year than the bottom of the SWC, WAC, and CUSA-Light as we have been for most of the last 16 years!

Duke is a basketball school and could care less about Football. Wouldn't you if you had K.

The sad thing is if SMU dropped football and put a majority of that money into Basketball......renovate Moody and build a first-class practice facility, we could have a nationally ranked basketball program like Duke. It will never happen but at least we would have a legit shot a national championship in a major sport. As long as things stay as is, we will never sniff a national championship, or even the post season.

For those who didn't already know this, Moody is the same basic design as Cameron Indoor and once upon a time back in the 60's and 70's (and even during stretches before the death penalty in the 80's), it was known to host SMU games with 10,000 fans packed in and rocking the place. I'd like to think those days will return at some point in my lifetie, but it will take SMU landing one or two of the top kids from the DFW area every year to make it happen.

Some of the stupidity on this board amazes me.
Renovate Moody & suddenly you go to the Final 4? Hell, we have the finest "FB" faciltiy in CUSA, and things ain't happenin yet.
We have 1 of the best soccer programs in the US-- and we seldom "sniff" the Final 4 of that sport either.
It takes a complete 'buy-in' to the program with support out-the-a$$ from Admin/Alums/Students to get to the level LA_Mustang desires.
