This board seems a little boring, lately, but I personally still care whether we can win our last 2 games. Going 5-6 this year, to me, would actually lift my spirits about this team for the off-season. A loss today ensures 3-8.
First, it starts with how we come out of the tunnel against Houston. Play smart and tough, fight [deleted] every play, and maybe we win today. Then we can talk about UTEP.
OH, and by the way, my Bro-in-law (as all my in-laws) is a HUGE Miss. St. alum. It would be nice to beat Houston since they beat Miss. St. earlier this season for all the cr@p I get from him for being an SMU fan!

I have noticed that there are times, when I am the ONLY one on this site. Kind of sad, how little interest there is.

Wouldn't you rather be 5-6 than 3-8? If you say, "No, it really doesn't matter", then you're really no SMU fan.
Besides, it appears you ARE interested since you keep showing up on this board.

5-6 is still a losing season....how many more of those do we have to suffer through? Why can't the administration get off its [deleted] and model our football program after TCU's so that we can truly compete for conference championships, be ranked in the top 25 on a regular basis and get to go to a bowl game almost every year! It is truly sad how they can have all of that success and SMU fans are thankful for a 4 or 5 win season!

You're telling Noah about the flood...I agree with you. But, I am not "thankful" for a 5 win season. I hate it. But it's more respectable than 3-8 and shows some improvement. Hell, two years ago we were 0-12.
By the way, I'm convinced you are a Toad, Ponysnob.

Of course we're still interested. We've all invested time, energy, emotion and/or money in SMU -- in many cases, all of those -- and there's no way you give up on this team. We've all seen improvement this team (although admittedly, we'd all like to see more). Winning even one of the last two games would give us a better record than we've had in years, and would give us three solid (Houston/UTEP, TCU and UAB) wins, along with the win we expected, deserved and got over Rice. Adding another win (and of course adding two) would be a major boost going into recruiting season.

If you're not interested in the Mustangs, go away.

If we finish 5-6 I'll be thrilled and ready for next year, with lot of optimism...if we finish 3-8, I'll be fearful of whats to come...

I think this team's talent level has risen to the point that we are capable of winning the last two games, but our nemisis has been turnovers. It was a killer in the Tulsa game for sure. We have got to hold on to the ball...then and only then will we be in a position to win. 4 and 7 would be an improvement over last tear, but 5 and 6 is what I would love to see at this point in this season!

I'm STILL interested in this season!
We CAN beat UTEP. UAB proved that tonight. It'll be extremely tough, but we can do it!
Go Mustangs! Beat UTEP!

I remember telling someone in August that we'd win four .... so I should be satisfied now, right?
Now I want five!

Hey Psnob - why would we want to model our program to be like TCU? - they got their butts kicked by SMU this year.
