After my rant two weeks ago regarding the current state of SMU athletics, I have to eat a little crow and give the Mustangs credit. Road wins this year against UAB and Houston along with the TCU win I do think give reason for GUARDED OPTOMISM. That said there is good reason to feel optomistic. I'm still very concerned about the offense. Way too inconsistent and SMU graduates two quarterbacks this year. It will be interesting to see who rises to the top of that competition next year. My complaints with SMU football were not intended to be aimed at the team. One of the things I truly enjoy about SMU football is the fact that there are alot of kids from small East Texas schools and those kids play their guts out. I've never seen an SMU game where I felt like the kids weren't giving great effort. After attending EVERY home game my first two years and half of the away games in that time, I was disappointed in the football knowledge of the average SMU student, and the fact that regardless of the score, they leave at halftime. Coming from football rabid East Texas I just couldn't imagine kids leaving the game at halftime! I think a major issue that SMU needs to look into is in its admissions and recruiting. Obviously I understand that SMU has the need to recruit students from across the country, and typically kids that come out of high income enclaves, but I think there should be an effort to get more kids in Texas interested in coming to SMU. I was stunned about the amount of kids that go here who are from the Northeast and California. Texans are the highest percentage, but not by a whole heck of a lot. Just a suggestion. Anyway, just wanted to make it clear that I don't hate SMU as a school or its teams, but you can't really hold it against me for at least being passionate in the way things have gone down around here in my four years. I am glad to see that maybe, just maybe, better days are on the horizon. Go Mustangs.
Basically, I'm a badass.

graduating 2 quarterbacks is a good thing. We gotta have more than a caretaker at qb. I think Bennett overreacted from all the qb problems and doesnt want the position to lose games right now. The pendelum has to swing back the other way and we have to allow our qb to make plays even if that means making some mistakes.

I want a QB who can throw an accurate deep ball and who can also tuck it and run to keep the defense honest
