Freshmen that could start or play earlyCastille could start and Thomas could start or play early. Also the incoming freshmen o linemen could see some early time imo. Any others you guys might put in this category since a good number will not redshirt?

Re: Freshman that could start or play earlyI think Biggurs and Michael Scott could get into the mix for playing time on the defensive line.
Jordan Williams could get significant time at the star position backing up Shak. Obviously Ben Hicks will play. Kevin Johnson is my dark horse recruit that could be a factor. Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Freshman that could start or play earlyProche, West and Xavier Jones
Clemons and Honey have a shot one of the freshman TE/HBs might get a shot for extra blocking -Herndon-they are moving Mitchell Kaufman to TE/HB I believe I think Wilds plays at Tackle but I doubt many offensive lineman do I thought the freshman kicker but maybe not with Wake Forest transfer Hedlund That's 14 right there "With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

Re: Freshman that could start or play earlyI don't want to burn shirts just for the sake of burning them. Both backs will see PT but if Proche isn't ready to contribute he could really benefit from a redshirt season. We'll have Darius Joseph and Xavier Castille ahead of him on the depth chart unless he shows out big time in camp. He didn't play a ton at DeSoto and played vastly inferior opponents at PP. I don't want a repeat of a Jeremy Johnson/Darius Johnson situation in their freshman seasons.

Obviously Ben Hicks?
Re: Freshman that could start or play earlyBen Hicks will most likely redshirt. Davis will start.
Re: Freshman that could start or play earlythis isn't the year to redshirt except for those that are not physically prepared-see Linemen -the talent level will rise under Morris in succeeding years-Morris will not waste these guys especially at skill positions-he'll get them on the field early and often-and I bet you'll see a bunch on special teams by week 3. The goal is to integrate the younger players into the lineup so in 2016-2017 you have a realistic shot at going bowling.
