UNT will be a good measuring stick for us but I just want to see improvement from week to week. Regardless of the outcome I just want to see us get better.

I agree. I think the UNT game is huge and could set up the sort of season we are going to have. That said, I think by the last 4 games of the season we will be playing much better than the first 4.

I really think SMU will beat UNT with a 35-10 type of score.

Yeah strangely enough coming off a 1-11 season with an entirely new coaching staff the measuring stick for a program like that isn't the 93 Cowboys.

Hopefully this year only. And I hope we use that stick to whack the crap out of NTSU.

UNT does have mid level Sunbelt type talent. So it will let us know where we are.

I love my CB group and am so proud of the effort they've been giving during camp from the starters to the 2's and 3's. #PonyUpTempo #Family

I like how our coaching staff does not publicly say anything discouraging about any position on the team. I like how they say every position looks good. Secondary looks good, OL kooks good, etc. Obviously they are trying to do the opposite of Houston. But at the same time they do tell us to temper expectations. I like this staff and how they handle things publicly.

To be fair to Herman, UH has some units and players that were successful last year. Thus, he can afford to beat them down a bit to keep them from getting overly confident.

Withe possible exception of our punter, I don't think any of our players had a good year last year. As a result, Morris needs to build confidence (even when it might be unwarranted) at almost every position and the OL in particular.

Which is comprised of old Sun Belt/D1AA teams and the CUSA scrapheap. Kudos!

Yes, I know but they have Mid level Sunbelt type talent. They have lower level CUSA talent.
