Ah, ignorance is bliss! As a former footballer both American and the World's Game, I deeply love both. I had no exposure to soccer at all to my late 20's but quickly discovered that soccer was truly a beautiful, demanding game and a pleasure to watch especially where played at a high level. Yes there are some boring soccer games but there are as many boring football games as well. Why denigrate a game where you obviously lack knowledge and understanding. While I agree that American football is number 1 at SMU and in the US, it is not conflicting to also embrace soccer. I believe that to truly support SMU athletics you must support all the programs and especially soccer where we have been so successful.
