Re: UNC has spent $10 mill on scandal
Now that is interesting. So is the NCAA looking at the UNC men's program or not? From what I've read, it sounds like they are b/c the type of academic fraud uncovered involved hundreds of athletes over a long period of time. It would defy credibility if the men's program was the one program where the athletes weren't engaging in academic fraud. I know football has already been hit.
Re: UNC has spent $10 mill on scandalSince its the NCAA, and they are the National Corrupt Athletics Association, I fully believe that the UNC scandel will result in punishments to their non-revenue sports and women's basketball since that has been the UNC narrative all along. They won't touch UNC football or men's basketball (probably at the begging of the ACC). Now, Louisville is the interesting one. Can't lay that off on women's sports.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: UNC has spent $10 mill on scandal
http://collegebasketball.nbcsports.com/ ... -the-ncaa/ http://3qh929iorux3fdpl532k03kg.wpengin ... AA-NOA.pdf There are examples of athletes from other sports receiving impermissible benefits, but Boxhill from the Women's program is named specifically in the charge. Nobody from the men's side is mentioned in the stated charges - they might be mentioned in the supporting materials, but those are used to prove that Crowder (secretary from the AFAM Dept) or another employee was committing fraud. So in their letter of allegations, the NCAA is showing their hand. Further, because this has been going on for so long, they can claim that this belongs under the previous penalties. This would give the girls the same punishment we received (or the same as Syracuse received) for vastly more infractions. The hold up right now is that UNC has self reported more violations (men's soccer and more women's hoops). This is giving them a more time to respond to the initial NCAA Notice. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/ear ... iolations/ Some rise by sin, and some by virtue fall
Re: UNC has spent $10 mill on scandalI can't help but believe that UNC will receive a comparative slap on the wrist for anything they are found to have done illegally. The NCAA has no stomach to go after any school that is willing to fight them. So they come after us time and again because we are contrite and easily shamed.
Re: UNC has spent $10 mill on scandalWhat a good SMU alum should do is....
Provide documentation of the ncaa being tipped off about unc issues over the past 15 years or so. Then having known and not investigated or acted.... Then SMU could file suit and close the ncaa for being what it is. A money laundering fraud. Mustang Militia: Fight the good fight"
Re: UNC has spent $10 mill on scandal
NCAA is too lazy to actually do police work, so they tell all schools to self report or feel our wrath. What Bullsheet Good luck NCAA on getting any more self reporting. Beat the hell out of anybody!
Re: UNC has spent $10 mill on scandalWe need to get some Duke alumni into the mix. I'm sure they'd be happy with UNC getting some actual punishment.

doesn't care who wins. -- Dwight D. Eisenhower
Re: UNC has spent $10 mill on scandalIf we wanted results, get some NC State alums. The hate they have for UNC is strong.
