- The offensive line continues to make mistakes. On the drive where we got stuffed on 4th and 1, on the Zach line run for -1 yards we just chose not to block a player. Our LT slid to the second level and let the OLB run free into the hole. On the 4th down play, 63 pulls and doubles the end instead of blocking the LB who makes the play. - Weird blocking schemes too. ON that 4th and 1 play, we dropped back and cut instead of trying to explode forward. very passive scheme for a 4th and 1 power QB run. - Blown coverage on that deep ball Tulsa got their first TD after. Shaq looks at the QB and shades outside and leaves his man, realizes he made a mistake, can't recover. The other safety is supposed to roll over and help, but takes an awful angle in coverage. - ON the long TD run, we got caught yet again with 4 linemen and one MLB and everyone else outside the hashes. It would have been a 10 yard gain but Yenga took an awful angle, as did 11 and took themselves out of the play. - Matt Davis needs to be benched RIGHT NOW for two reasons. 1) He refuses to just throw the ball to Sutton. Colbert gets in the game and immediately targeted Sutton twice. Davis gives up on him way too early. That isn't because the coaches are calling different plays. At the end of the half, we had 3 plays, we should throw the ball deep to Sutton all three of those plays, no question. 2) That pick 6 INT was horrible. Yes, it should have been called back, because their LDE had illegal hands to the face of our RT, but two things. First, it was 3rd and 8 and without letting anything develop, Davis threw a 3 yard out, which is just stupid. Second, that pass was just horrible. I will be pretty disappointed if Colbert doesn't play the entire second half.
This team isn't physically good enough to make a lot of mental mistakes. Without the mental mistakes (I forgot Deion turning a 40 yard punt into a 60 yard punt), SMU would be winning this game quite handily.

First off we have more receivers open than just Sutton. Also what recruit (and we have some major wr recruit in the house today) would want to come to SMU and play receiver when you are just throwing the ball to one guy all the time, Morris is thinking forward and trying to somewhat spread the ball around. Second Castille should get the ball more since he is our faster WR imo. Deion also returned a very good punt, however the fumble did not help. can't understand your hate for Deion Jr. Defense is playing pretty well.

Castille should have used a lot more this year. Wow even Tulsa can make our o-line look weak. Yes, Colbert should get the reps this half.

Who cares? You need to move the ball and win to impress recruits, not just spread the ball around. Offensive coaches talk to recruits and tell them the strategy and where they envision them in the offense. They will understand the strategy of "feed your beast " especially when that's all you really have. That's June jones logic-marrying the philosophy and not deviating for better results. Sure other receivers are open- they always are. Matt davis just cannot make reads to save his life. So when in doubt, toss it up to Sutton. Worst case is likely an in completio . And even the jt might draw pi

Obviously. But highly unlikely with Sutton being the intended target

I don't think Davis "gives up" on Sutton or any other WR too early. I just don't think he sees the field well and rather than moving around in the pocket looking for passing lanes, he is quick to take off running. Even when given plenty of time, it appears Davis has trouble finding guys. Of course, watching on TV it's hard to tell what is happening downfield and whether his receivers are getting any separation

I think he's just unfortunately the best option we have at QB right now.

When Colbert gets in, he sure finds a way to get Sutton the ball. This week and last week. Finally we forced it to Sutton in the fourth and good things happened. Horrible sack towards the end of the game by Davis. You have to get rid of that ball. Similar to Baylor. Lasecki got burned n that play, but still.

I repeat: on numerous series, Davis locked on the other receiver and never looked Suttons way. Idiotic! I

Yes, if you watch he looks pre snap. If a safety is on Sutton he locks into the other side of the field at the snap of the ball and never goes back.
