I wouldn't be surprised if some changes were made in several line positions. Plus, I do see some improvement this last week. Perhaps with another year under their belt these guys will make considerable improvements by next year. However, they need to improve their quickness and strength. Strength will be easier to improve that quickness.

I tell you right now that Gaines better get on the stick because Corey Rau arrives next year.

can't wait until we see "the rest of that play" with the sweep/run-pass option turning into a sweep/reverse/run-pass option. Not sure we have the players on campus yet to pull that off but it was fun watching South Carolina run that play yesterday against the Aggie$ in the red zone. Talk about putting pressure on a defense![/quote

This sequence was a staple of the Lombardi Green Bay Packers. Paul Hornung at half back (former QB at Notre Dame ) frequently had the run/throw option on sweeps after fakes to fullback Jim Taylor. Huge weapon as he could run, throw short or throw deep. Placed huge pressure on line backers and corners.

"Southern Miss’ offense has gone from scoring 19 points per game in 2014, to 35.7 points per game this season. That’s the third-largest point differential (+16.7) year over year among all schools in the Football Bowl Subdivision. Only SMU (+17.7) and Texas Tech (+16.8) are ranked higher to this point in the season."
