Nope. He'd have to finish second or third...can't remember exactly which it was. And btw, hornfan68, you should be ashamed of yourself for not knowing who the winner was in 1998, Akili's last year as a collegian.

Who would you rather have on the Mustangs? With Bush, we may have won one more game. With Young, we would have won C-USA.

Young is a better college player.

Vince Young will be the next Matt Jones, not the next Akili Smith. He will be a very good WR at the next level. However, the Heisman is not based on pro potential (see Gino Torretta, Charlie Ward, Doug Flutie, Ty Detmer, etc.) But, since it's been brought up, the idea that Reggie Bush is going to be a "mediocre" pro is beyond ridiculous. He might not be Barry Sanders, but he's better than Willis McGahee -- before, during or after McGahee's knee injury. And he's no Tiki Barber -- he won't carry the ball 25-30 times a game. But if he's drafted by a creative coach (Andy Reid, Mike Holmgren, Mike Martz, Joe Gibbs, Norv Turner, etc.), who knows how to create ways to get the ball in his hands, he'll be very effective and he'll cause more than one defensive coordinator to have a heart attack.

Did you see Tiki play in college? He looked like a scat back then. He has put on a lot of muscle. Because those UVA teams weren't very good, he wasn't as lauded as Bush.

Sure he will, if he's willing to emulate Matt Jones and play WR. Some GM will fall in love with his height and speed and take him in the top 10 if he can be convinced he's not an NFL quarterback.
