That BC has the power to block another school from joining the ACC really is a crime.

I agree, but I think you know it would be BC out, UConn in.

OTOH, the likelihood of BC taking this columnist's advice is exactly nil.

Truthfully it would actually be a good move for all involved. UCONN would be in a conference commensurate for its basketball tradition. Boston College would be competitive in football and basketball in the AAC thanks to the lesser depth of the AAC v the ACC. The AAC would benefit because Boston College is a better football program and football is the driving force for everything.
