Exactly. There was no subterfuge and everyone on Tulsa was expecting the run. Heck, I would have prefered to see a long FG attempt. At least that would have had a better chance of scoring!

Did we have this many injuries when Mel was the strength coach?


No. Mel avoided all strength training and had them quick enough to completely avoid all contact during the game. Or if there was contact, they were pancaked before a chance of a double hit. There was no opportunity to get hurt :).
