I don't have an opinion this early-he definitely needs to go to a bowl

June didn't recruit and had a terrible staff of lazy cronies. Strong recruits and has a good staff.

If you are recruiting at the top level, your coach isn't screwing up game day decisions, and has a strong staff than there is no reason to switch coaches.

UT is not special. Every program in P-5 thinks they should be winning championships.

If Strong has such a good staff, why did demote/fire his OC last year and the year Medford pus the DC this year?

Look I'm not a UT fan but they are special at least in terms of resources. They haven't had three losing seasons in a row since the 1930s. Brown, Macovich, and Akers, for good or for bad, all had one losing season on their resume before being fired/pushed out.
Charlie wasn't handed a rebuilding job. It's fair to expect him to win this year or leave.

Then what were the last few seasons under Brown? Those definitely weren't championship level teams.

They were two 8 win seasons and one 9 win season. Spoiled boosters thought they were headed for a long slow decent and decided to be 'proactive' (I call it stupid). Recruiting was fine and there were no scandals. If Mack was still coaching they would be in contention for a CFP in a weakened Big XII, not talking about firing the coach.

Georgia and LSU are about to go through the same thing.

Per Rivals, 2013 class was 24th, but that number was skewed by the small size of the class (lots of returning players). In average stars, they were 8th.

2012 Class: 2nd ranked and 7th by average stars.

The main recruiting issue Brown was QB. They passed on RGIII & Manziel in favor of McCoy 2.0, Gilbert, and Ash. Ash was a good player, but got injured often. Gilbert was forced to play before he was ready. McCoy was average, but not horrible.

If David Ash had been healthy in 2013, Brown wins 10-11 games instead of 9.

Strong took that team, ran off a lot of players for minor stuff, and went 6-7, 5-7, and 2-3 so far. That gets you fired.
