E.D. on 1310

I caught the second half of the Dickerson interview with Dunham & Miller this morning. He had a couple of interesting comments. First, when asked who his favorite current RB in the NFL is, he said LT, and slipped in a little jab that he was a guy SMU could have had? Is that true? Hinting that we backed off of him for whatever reason....grades? Also, one of E.D.'s recruiting visits was to USC where he got to meet his hero, OJ. Can you believe we used to battle the USCs and UTs of the world in recruiting and win? Cheating or not, it must have been so great to watch our school compete at that level.

I know, instead of battling the UTEP's and Rice's like we do now! I was in undergrad from 95-99, then law from 00-03, and I saw how TCU rose to a BCS contender and we basically stayed put at the bottom. How did that happen??? Both private schools located in the metroplex, with pretty much the same student base and facilities...Is it our admissions standards?? And if so, can we mimic their success by following their lead??

I thought it was mentioned previously that LT was a non-qualifier on signing day but TCU just took a shot anyways and got lucky.

I think the more accurate phrase is that he was a late qualifier

NC, I was there.

There is absolutely ZERO comparison to what SMU accomplished during the Pony Express Days versus what TCU has done recently.
