Temple's John Chaney was the one who admitted to doing that.

Thompson called it "hard defense" .... and when he had actual talent (i.e. Patrick Ewing, Reggie Williams, etc.), he had some terrific teams. But when he had to rely on misplaced defensive ends to make up his front line, that's when thugball came out.

Thats right, my mistake. Though Thompson did offer to coach G-town this year for his son, apparently his wife is sick and he has to take care of the kids and her. JT III said no and is doing a great job with them this year.

I would take the old man for athletic director any day. I listen to his radio show now and then andthe man knows a lot about college sports and wouldn't suffer foolish administrators' BS quietly. He might even have an idea to get a few people out to the game. He has openly advocated that players should be paid. He advocates that academically, players should be given the tools they need to get up to an even playing field before being required to advance toward a degree. I would welcome a few Allen Iverson's here.
