PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The 2018 American Athletic Conference Football Summer Kickoff and Media Days will again feature two days of live coverage of events in Newport, Rhode Island, July 23-24 at Gurney’s Newport Resort and Spa.

Live coverage will begin with a one-hour program Monday, July 23, at 7 p.m. ET from the site of the event’s New England-style clambake. The American’s Hali Oughton will be joined by longtime television analyst Andy Katz for interviews with coaches and guests as they arrive at the clambake, with the backdrop of a waterfront sunset.
Following the announcement of The American’s Fifth Anniversary Team, Monday’s program will feature Randy Edsall of UConn, Sonny Dykes of SMU, Scottie Montgomery of ECU, Philip Montgomery of Tulsa, Willie Fritz of Tulane and Luke Fickell of Cincinnati. Also joining the ADN coverage is ECU offensive lineman Garrett McGhin, who will serve as a correspondent and have various interview segments during the show.
The American Digital Network will be live Tuesday, July 24, beginning at 8:30 a.m. ET with the announcement of The American football preseason poll. ESPN anchor Kevin Negandhi will serve as the host of Tuesday’s podium sessions, featuring opening remarks by commissioner Mike Aresco and three roundtable sessions featuring The American’s head coaches. Oughton will be joined by Katz and veteran college football announcer Andy Gresh for more in-depth interviews with coaches, student-athletes and guests.
Tuesday’s show will feature interviews with UCF’s Josh Heupel and McKenzie Milton, Memphis’ Mike Norvell and Tony Pollard, USF’s Charlie Strong and Tyre McCants, Houston’s Major Applewhite and Ed Oliver, Temple’s Geoff Collins and Frank Nutile, and Navy’s Ken Niumatalolo and Sean Williams as well as Commissioner Aresco.
