First couple of years, JJ pulled in higher rated recruits and hit on some DITR.

The last two years, they relied solely on DITR recruiting. Combination of staff attrition where we lost the guys who actually hit the ground, and Patterson not "helping" anymore.

Goes to show that you can't just watch video. Relationships are important with the schools, and having a presence there is important to build those relationships. The number of "I never saw SMU until Chad got there" comments are startling.

Chad rebuilt a lot of the relationships with Texas coaches, which I think is important to keep in mind before we give up on this season and the recruits he pulled in over the past three years.

We lost a very good player in Evan. But Livingston, Todora, Smith, and Howerton were very highly regarded recruits that should be coming into their own physically. Barton, Wilds and Webb were rated highly by at least one of the services and had some quality offers. Morris was rated highly by Rivals.

Pursley is good, Natour has shown some ability in the past. Dennis looked good in the spring. Wilds and Todora got an awful lot of playing time on the "best line since the DP".

I'm still not sure why a line that lost one starter and has a bunch of well regarded recruits coming into their own is going to take a huge step back?
