West Picks Up Paul Hornung Watch List Accolades

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (SMU) – For the second consecutive season, senior Braeden West has been named to the Paul Hornung Award watch list, the Louisville Sports Commission announced Thursday.

The 2018 Paul Hornung Award presented by Texas Roadhouse honors student-athletes who play multiple positions on offense and/or multiple positions on defense and demonstrate an extreme, high-level of versatility.

West played in 12 games for the Mustangs in 2017, finishing second on the team with 568 rushing yards on 73 carries and added a pair of rushing touchdowns. The Katy, Texas, native also registered 18 catches for 185 yards and 423 yards on 23 kick returns.

West is also a preseason All-American Athletic Conference selection by Athlon Sports, and was on the Doak Walker Award Watch List in 2017.
