if Alabama has this issue against an SEC rival like A&M...we sure as hell are going to have the same problem...last conference championship was...

Alabama had more butts in seats for their spring game than we'll have for our entire home schedule.

My teen son and his friend wanted to leave just before it went into OT. I told them we’ll leave when it’s all over. They also had fun rolling down the end zone hill. LOL. My wife complained about the 11 a.m. start and my sister in law and her Naval Academy loving 15 yo son didn’t make it down from The Colony. If they needed to buy tickets in advance, they would’ve been much more likely to make the effort. They watched on TV.

Honestly, as much as I love it, football has started its slow decline in the country.

People are making a big deal about the flag crap, but in reality... a tackle isn't a tackle, a catch isn't a catch, you are taking the physicality out of the games, replay reviews take 10x longer than they do in soccer, the games last too long compared with the actual game play, and participation is decreasing rapidly due to the concussion issues.

Baseball and football are going to start slipping, while basketball and soccer continue to grow in popularity. Either lacrosse or rugby will start to gain popularity as well, because of the physicality and the lack of play stoppages.

i have more optimism for smu football that i've had in a long time. if sonny will stay for the long term we will have a very good program. it will be bumpy in the short term. eventually attendance will improve for us if we establish a winning program. not saying that we will compete with Michigan, ohio state and Alabama for attendance records but it wont be embarrassing.
