The Innocence of a first year Coach

interesting read on Rice's new Head Coach Todd Graham and his ideas on turning that program around. Thought the comments about the technology updates were interesting. Are our players wired with this type of individual player technology. I noticed he's not wasting any time going after some of the institutional restraints which have historically hurt the program like the lack of summer school at Rice, the inability to obtain early acceptance of athletes early in the recruiting season, national recruiting budget and facility upgrades. Rice already has a Kinesiology Department which houses a high percentage of Football Players. He's certainly not shy about going after some of the long term problems at that school.

Graham only looks at this as a stepping stone. Of course, Major is only there for the same reason. A few years 'transitioning' the option to the passing game and then Applewhite will be off to make his own name. If nothing really happens, then no big loss, it's Rice. If something does come about, then all of a sudden, he's a Miracle Man.

I guess since Rice is making an effort to "change their model" we can go ahead and pencil them in the Stallion Bowl this year, thinking about changing the model automatically gets them what 7 wins this year?

I think about models all the time, but I sure haven't scored 7 "wins".
