East Coast Mustang wrote:I was cussed at repeatedly during the game for cheering after our many scoring plays. While walking out with my friend and his two young sons, multiple fans yelled obscenities and f-bombs at us and one very overweight TCU fan bowled over one of my friend’s sons in the crowd leaving the stadium and didnt even bother apologizing. When I said something to him, he told me to eff off.
As I said, the contrast in the qualities of our student bodies (and alumni bases) couldn’t be any more stark. TCU is like a private Tech.
Perfect analogy TCU is a private Texas Tech

TCU fans sitting near us were really quiet for most of the game, all of the second half. Didn't say a word at the end. Loved every second of it!

And this SMU fan still likes to wear them so I guess I am more practical than stylish. Decided a long time ago (even as a student watching coeds attend games at the Cotton Bowl in 90 degree heat wearing their new wool fall fashions while I wore shorts and t-shirt) that I was not going to be the stereotypical SMU student/alum.

Nothing wrong or offensive about that. I remember both sides, while one side would chant S-M-U or T-C-U inserting "su ck$" at an appropriate time. Thought that was pretty funny actually.

I saw many conflicted people, couples wearing TCU and SMU shirts, one guy wearing SMU gear, had a wife, mother-in-law and two kids all dressed in purple, the worst, was a man wearing SMU gear and a TCU hat! I talked to him briefly, he said he played at SMU, but his son plays for TCU.

The fact we are even remotely relevant enough for anyone to do upside down pony ears is mildly amusing.

No thread about fans should occur without mentioning Ohio State.
1. Ohio State 2. Tech 3. LSU

I noticed that much of the TCU fan base suffers some sort of arthritic condition in their hands. That would make most people ornery

As a Big 10 alum, I'm going to have to agree with The Ohio State fans being The worst. In person, online, random people you meet. Obnoxious combined with not smart. Their marching band is awesome, though.
This is the school that tried to trademark "The" if that gives you any idea about their mindset.

They (UT fans) never got over the signs saying "Our maid went to Texas!" We really went overboard, and obviously we shouldn't be insulting our maids.

Yeah you know we are getting somewhere when people root against you. We have only had the pity pat on the head for about the last 30 years.
