Yes, for all sports, including bball. Unless there was a change from last year. Most of the students seem more interested in sitting in the grass rather than in the stands, which is fine as long as they are present. I did notice they added the seats back into the student section.

I ran into two teachers yesterday at the game (one from Plano another from Frisco), one is a student in the MLS program another one has no connection to SMU in any way shape or form. So there is interest, but as has been stated, the avg Dallas resident needs to see sustained winning before they will jump on board.

This is also on the athletic dept to navigate the ship the right way. They blew it in bball and it shows in both attendance and performance.

I can't believe you remembered what I said. Yes! Fans are not very smart. There is at least a one year lag on attendance based on on-the-field results. I guess you can attribute some of that to people having to plan long in advance. Even if we go 14-0 this season, attendance will increase, but not as much as you would expect. Similarly, if we do go 14-0 and then 7-5 next season, based on past experience I would expect attendance to be over 25,000 based on this season's results. The dip would then be in 2021.

Our biggest concern is:

Gameday coming to Memphis, full blue Memphis stadium who mauled Tulane to death last night with conference title on the line.

If we somehow beat them, we will win every game including the championship.

This is ridiculously overconfident. Navy, Tulane, and very likely Cincy will be just as tough as Memphis.

Thanksgiving games on SMU campus are historically very poorly attended. Better start giving away tickets now

Yes that is true - but it’s usually something like 2-9 Tulsa vs 4-7 SMU. 11-0 vs Tulane, marketed well, could draw very well I think.

Looking to bring some prospective students from my charity up to the Hilltop for the BLVD and the game on Thanksgiving week. The football team is creating a good buzz down here in Houston so it's baby steps towards the right direction. The only issue I'm having is that apparently, the school is getting harder to get into nowadays??

Also, putting students in the lawn makes the stadium side look more empty. Get them back to the seats and let the kids play in the lawn.

I’m curious, is it a recruiting violation to give away free tickets to high school and younger kids? I remember not being allowed on the field of an Ole Miss game when I was 11 Bc it would have been a violation. If not, please just start giving away entire end zone sections to youth football teams and charities.

Every first responder and reserve military in DFW should have a free ticket. Fill Ford and worry about revenue later.
