How long will Orsini give Tubbs and BennettGiven that new AD's typically like to have their own football and basketball coaches under them, many seasons will Orsini give Tubbs and Bennett to have teams that win - provided that is his expectation? Due to the numerous extensions of Bennetts contract under Copeland, is he locked into him for the next 4-5 years? Does Tubbs only get a year to show he is worthy of a contract extension?
After last season, I think Bennett has another two years. If we are still under .500, I would guess he will be gone. I don't think it will matter, because I do have some hope will ole Phil.
As for Tubbs, I think he will be here next year--unless that investigation turns up something big. I would guess bball coach will be his first search, as there will have to be some success before we start dumping money into the program. Willis to slot receiver!
Re: How long will Orsini give Tubbs and BennettWhat do you say we see him in action before you start predicting anyone's firing? Hoop Fan is right -- there are other routes to go first. "What kind of weirdo school are they running over there in Fort Worth?"

He gave him one year, the next year they were in the CUSA championship. Willis to slot receiver!
Re: How long will Orsini give Tubbs and BennettWhat do you say we see him in action before you start predicting anyone's firing? [/quote] Wasn't predicting anyone's firing....but he knows that Bennett has yet to produce anything close to what he was brought in to do in 4 years and in 2 seasons Tubbs does not appear to have the team headed upwards. At most Phil should have two seasons to show significant improvement and in all honesty, if we can't be at least .500 with next years schedule, it will be another failed season. There is no reason that a basketball coach should not show improvement by year 3, and if Tubbs team has another season like this one, hard to say that we have improved any after firing the previous coach.
