Bill Lively, our 10th Athletic Director...

Postby SMUPhil » Sun Mar 26, 2006 12:18 am

In the most recent DMN article about Orsini, it lists all of our previous athletic directors.

"Bill Lively* July 1994-Dec. 1994 " -interim Athletic Director before Copeland was hired.

Is this the same William H. Lively that was Bryan Adams HS band director, Mustang Band [deleted]'t director, and president/head honcho of the SMU Alumni Association? Is there anything this guy didn't have a hand in at SMU at some point?

Yes, it's the same guy. He was VP of Development or something to that affect when he was at SMU at that time.

...so I guess it answers my question as to whether it's the same 'Bill' Lively who is now an attorney in Tyler. Come to think of it, the guy in Tyler is William Lively Jr....maybe they're related?

Lively is a good guy, he gave a ton of his time and energy to the betterment of SMU....I think he must have slept in a blue suit, white button down, and red and blue club tie, never saw the guy wearing anything else...
