USF Game Thread

Lots of drinks today and great company on the Hilltop. Great win overall. But my only concern with Tanner is how long he holds onto that football. Much rather take a sack than a INT. Even on some of the completions he has, he’s just holding on a second or two too long.

But we just won by four scores while not playing our best. I stated to my party earlier that this is by far the best SMU in my lifetime. Hard to be frustrated but still am.

Onto Navy.

i said the same thing to my wife. Tanner stands looking too long and the pass rush gets to him.

Score doesn't reflect how bad the secondary played and how inefficient the offense really was. Happy for the win but we had to play better. Still don't deserve a top 25 rating.

It was interesting that USF just gave up at the end of the game. With very little time on the clock left they ran 3 running plays eating. Up the last seconds of the clock and then punted. I realize the game was over as far as winning, but I was surprised that they just threw in the towel.

Texas will be ranked ahead of us despite the fact that we weren't embarrassed by Arkansas and we statistically outplayed TCU compared to them. As Jack Benny said when he won an award, I have arthritis but I don't deserve that either. We were also playing without our top running back. Take what you can get and act like you deserve it.

They did the old school thing of on their second to last drive, putting their backup QB in the game and running the ball three straight times and punting to send a message to Dykes not to run the score up. We responded by just running the ball the next drive.
