Exactly we can't seem to play 4 quarters of football. It seems impossible. I like Sonny and he doesn't a great job but he needs to find away through his coordinators to get players psyched up. Sadly this season will as it looks like be another 9-3/10-2 season that was close to the dream, close to getting P5 attention but coming up short. Unlike BYU, they will kick us out of the Top 25.

Maybe but Houston is the first winning record team we’ve played.

You assume much. Perhaps the coaching staff has mailed it in already.

And this went the dream season.
Long live Inez Perez!

I believe in the character of our young men out there.
I question repeated coaching decisions especially on the special teams side. I want Sonny bad [deleted] to answer why he allowed us to kick to literally the most dangerous and prolific returner in the effing league. Why???

Our offense was flat & not clicking at all until right before halftime. The UH guy sitting next to me said at the beginning of the game he couldn’t believe we kicked to that guy. A tough loss for sure.

There were 30 seconds left on the clock. A squib kick (especially if it went out of bounds) would have given UH enough time to get into FG range, Nedward wrote:I believe in the character of our young men out there.
So do I. The challenge for the coaches is to not allow one loss to snowball into 2-3 more.

If we didn't sleep walk the first quarter, we would have won by two TDs. Playing catch up like that is not a winnable strategy.
I'm sure they planned to come out flat. At some point you have to give Houston some credit.

True and that would be nothing short of a miracle for this team to accomplish that

Absolutely given them credit for catching us sleep walking. It was 17-0 in a blink of an eye. Take away that, our return touchdown and theirs at the end and we win from playing when things were settled in. Sadly we wait til 17-0, similar to Navy, to start playing.

I agree. Houston WANTED to win & they were ready for us. We woke up shortly before halftime and then came out a bit cool. I think it was a good learning experience to play in a loud hostile environment. I imagine it’ll be the same in Cincinnati. I believe we’re capable of bouncing back and moving forward. Just hope we do.

A road win @ Memphis and a home win against UCF would both be really good wins now. Tulsa always plays us tough so a lot depends on how the next 3 weeks go, but I will assume at least one more win and 8-4 as a worst case scenario. Worried about our banged up OL

I felt they came out scared and intimidated. Hence 17 quick points and we can't overcome them. Hope SD has signed that supposed 7 yr. agmt. Now, he really needs to evaluate some of his staff. Some coaching actions were more than just stupid and likely cost us the game.
