Re: Toxic Television NetworksThanks Topper/Dukie. Interesting article. Looks like the ACC may start to collapse too.
C-ya @ Milos!
Re: Toxic Television NetworksMedia didn’t negotiate with the PAC 12 in good faith, and got the teams they wanted by turning off
the money tap. Is this grounds for charges or lawsuits with monopoly or oligopoly themes? I only have a couple of SMU B-law courses a long time ago. May the forth be with us.

Re: Toxic Television Networks
Lol the paste error could've been worse. College football w/ NIL and loosened transfer rules is a mess. Throw in this realignment nightmare and it's just total chaos. I feel bad for those who supported SMU so hard in all of this (the collectives, donors, etc). It sucks but we will have to just wait a bit for the next opportunity. Re: Toxic Television Networks
I just hope everyone continues to support the program. It's not time to give up.
Re: Toxic Television NetworksIf I were a big money donor, I would need a minute to regroup... then hopefully get mad and continue.
Donors/collectives have REALLY stepped up in recent years. It would help immensely to have a football AAC title to back them up when fighting for promotion to a power conference. Teams with big TV money really have a leg up in important areas that often don't have the spotlight such as support staff...psychologists, a dining area for athletics, nutritionists, good pay for medical trainers so they're not working for effectively minimum wage, etc.
Re: Toxic Television Networks
Both worth reading
Re: Toxic Television NetworksIf the PAC wants to continue they might see if they can't get a few congressmen to make some comments about all the realignment and how the media has destroyed college football. It might make some of the networks a little nervous and maybe they would be 'helpful' in rebuilding the PAC.
Re: Toxic Television NetworksWhat would it cost to buy ESPN. Just asking if I win the lottery?
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: Toxic Television Networks
Yes; everybody needs to go out and buy a Mega Millions ticket for Tuesday's drawing but I'm afraid even that "net after tax" payout won't fix this mess.
