VIDEO: SMU football head coach Rhettt Lashlee, linebacker Kobe Wilson,tight end R.J. Maryland and quarterback Kevin Jennings met the media after the Mustangs won their first Atlantic Coast Conference game in program history, 42-16, over Florida State.

Loved Lashlee's comment that while this game was big for our program, it won't gain us one yard or score one point in next week's game. Stay humble and hungry guys!

Also...Lashlee says they sold out their ticket allotment for recruits for the 1st time in Ford. Nice!

I've been preaching for years about how important a packed house and the crowd can be for our team's effort and performance. Nice to hear R.J. Maryland comment that our crowd was messing with FSU's cadence and throwing them off their game. He talked about how significantly things have changed since he 1st arrived and so few fans came out compared to what is now happening.

That was great ... but I loved the line right before it even more:

"This has to be one of the bigger moments for our program, right? Last week was great. It was a rivalry game. This is different: we beat a national brand, the defending (conference) champs in our first-ever ACC game, to just, at least, validate we belong."

Translation: Florida State is a national, marquee program. TCU is not.

Damn right!
