SMU's Offensive Line in the FSU GameWhen I returned home from the FSU game last night I had to sit down and watch the ESPN replay. I’ve got to brag about our offensive line. For personal reasons, I most closely watch them. We've all heard how tough FSU’s defensive line is, so I expected the SMU line to be pushed around some and beaten up. That didn’t happen. The SMU line pushed FSU’s back splitting them to make holes for our RB’s to run, or, on passes, build a human wall of protection for our QB’s. I particularly watch Logan Parr. He put on a human clinic! I can’t say enough about his play. If I had a young man wanting to learn the O guard position I would put him down in front of a TV and tell him to play just like Parr. All night he was pulling or trapping making big blocks, literally driving opponents backward, or to the side, or wherever he wanted. In addition, it doesn’t matter where a play ended up, left, right, or downfield, he seemed to be there looking for some opponent to hit and drive away. But he wasn’t alone. Our O line dominated the defense. They were the silent, never-noticed, heroes of the FSU game. Outstanding job done by a group of tough impressive men.
Re: SMU's Offensive Line in the FSU Gameand how about Savion Byrd getting flagged for pulling the FSU DL off of Parr when he was laying on the back of Logan's ankle/foot possibly trying to do some damage after the play had ended? The band of brothers is coming together as the season wears on.

I saw that. Byrd has got some strength doing that with one hand.

I agree. I am absolutely shocked by the PFF ratings for the OL, especially inside. The best players on FSU are at corner and DT, and our interior line did a great job against their DTs. It is amazing how much better Byrd has played on the left side than the right.

That's what I noticed. He forklifted that dude with 1 hand! That's a different a kind of strong. I really shouldn't drink and type.
