Smith Named Fourth Team All-American By Phil Steele, Three Mustangs Earn Honorable Mention Accolades

CLEVELAND, Ohio (Phil Steele/SMU) – SMU running back Brashard Smith has been tabbed a Fourth Team All-American by Phil Steele, and linebacker Kobe Wilson, safety Isaiah Nwokobia and kicker Collin Rogers earned Honorable Mention recognition by the publication.

In his lone season on the Hilltop, Smith racked up a total of 1,977 all-purpose yards, setting a new program record for the most yards in a single season.

On the ground, the Richmond Heights, Florida, native became just the 12th 1,000-yard rusher in program history. After eclipsing the milestone during the game against Boston College, the senior climbed to 1,332 rushing yards with 14 scores.

Wilson picks up an Honorable Mention nod after collecting 117 tackles on the season to lead the team. He also turned in a pick six during the win over Florida State.

SMU's second-leading tackler in 2024, Nwokobia joined Wilson at the top of the Mustangs' stat sheet with 100 tackles on the year. He also added three interceptions during the season.

Rogers became the SMU all-time leading scorer this season, getting up to 356 total points. This season, he had 124 points, just two behind his number last year of 126.

For the season, he went 24-33, with seven field goals from 50 yards out or more. The seven is the second most in NCAA history, just one back of Tennessee's Fuad Reveiz who hit eight in 1982.

The stats weren't dominant, but I would have liked to see Jared Harrison-Hunte or Elijah Roberts get recognized, too. They are incredible players.
