10 Mustangs named to All-ACC Academic Team
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (The ACC/SMU) – SMU Football had 10 student-athletes recognized for their success in the classroom this past fall, being named to the All-ACC Academic Team in a release by the conference on Friday.
Jake Bailey, Anthony Booker Jr., Will Benton IV, Carter Campbell, Matthew Hibner, Jonathan McGill, Isaiah Nwokobia, Logan Parr, Collin Rogers and Ben Sparks made the team for SMU.
McGill was also named an Academic All-American by College Sports Communicators earlier this offseason.
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in at least 50 percent of their team's contests during the season.
Five All-ACC Academic Team selections, including McGill, were also recognized as 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-Americans including in Elic Ayomanor of Stanford (first team), Bruno Fina of Duke (second team), Henry Freer of Georgia Tech (second team), and Craig Woodson of California (second team).
All 17 ACC Football member institutions were represented on the team.
