BC has the Boston market which adds ACC network to New England cable systems. Syracuse adds upstate NY cable systems. So while no one watches them, it still generates viewerships for other ACC schools that casual fans want to watch. As we’re seeing from the bleatings of the SEC coaches, it’s nice to have a couple of cupcakes on the conference schedule. Wake usually meets that criteria. It gives the top of the conference some needed wins and is a trap to punish good teams who lose to them. Also Syracuse and Wake do bring eyes for hoops games. This is part of the equation. Wake is also a legacy ACC team from Tobacco Road era. A UNC\Wake game will draw more eyes than UNC/Cal. Yes it would be nice to add AU, ASU, UU and CO. UU is reportedly unhappy with the Big 12. Cincy is a bad addition. No academics. And with another expansion thread another kitten died.
