As discussed on the Duke board, unlike the ND-Stanford series, these games *will* count as part of Notre Dame's required 5 games per year against ACC teams. So everyone who isn't Stanford or Clemson gets fewer opportunities to play the Irish.

Only way to compete in the revenue sharing wars and only fair that teams who draw large numbers should be rewarded. After all, that was a big part of the SWC breakup back in the day when the larger public schools got tired of "carrying" the small privates. SMU just needs to hope our wealthy supporters stay engaged and help grow the brand

Well said.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!
For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

If I am SMU, I tell ND that to get such a series, we will play all our Home games in the series at either the Cotton Bowl or the Jerry Dome. And I would make that same offer to OU, Texas, Aggie, LSU, and even Arkansas. If SoCal or Ohio St or Michigan or Penn ST want to play in Big D, same offer. And then SMU would pile up the TV numbers

I think I like this idea.

Agree. OU already agreed to come to Ford, however, so that shouldn't change. And Texas is highly unlikely. But LSU played TCU at JerryWorld a few years ago.

Offer up the cotton bowl or Jerry world seems nice but will SMU fans come out with enough force? I sure hope so. There’s no excuse anymore especially with the opponents in mind.
The last thing I would want though is a game in one of these venues and it’s 80/20 or 75/25 the other team’s fan filling these stadiums.

The last thing I want is SMU sinking back to the American. Take the swing. Dallas will show for a winner, and even more, the Cowboys have continued their decades-long shedding of fans, and now the Mavs have said hold my beer. Strike now I hope.
