Deloitte should have run as far and as fast as they could from this role. They will be a laughingstock for being ineffective, or they will be a nemesis of fan bases. Or both. Probably both.

By the way, and related to nothing in particular, any good/close relationships between SMU bigwigs and Deloitte bigwigs? :lol:

I agree, it feels like a no-win situation for Deloitte (except for the massive paycheck that undoubtedly comes with it).

Does this mean the schools can hand out this money IN ADDITION to whatever collectives offer? Or is this the schools taking over management of that collective-raised money?

The ~$20M/year is separate from NIL $. I have no idea if schools getting more involved in NIL is part of the plan.
