How do you see the Conference race in the West shaping up. Any predictions for Overall and Conference records? Will it be Tulsa again, or Houston, UTEP or us?

OK, I'll bite:
UTEP
SMU
Houston
Tulsa
Tulane
Rice
In the coming years, thanks largely to Coach Graham's recruiting prowess, I would expect Rice to leapfrog Tulane and Tulsa .... and SMU to destroy everyone, of course.

I might swap Houston and Tulsa, but for the most part your list looks pretty dead-on. This is, of course, assuming SMU can make as big a leap this year with a more veteran team as they did last year with a young team.

First of all, without having digested any rosters, I just have a hunch Tulsa will begin to decline, without Graham there to recruit (and didn't he steal a few assistants, too?) and without Mills there to catch everything that goes up in the air. Maybe not right away, but I can see them starting to slide a little.
Of course, my faith in SMU's rise is based on (A) my faith, hope and prayers that we start kicking tail and (B) the performance at the quarterback position. Maybe my optimism is a year premature, as Willis gets his feet wet. But I keep hoping he's more than a typical freshman QB.
We'll see in a few months!

With everything going our way:
SMU 9-3, 6-2
Houston 9-3, 6-2
UTEP 9-3, 6-2
Tulsa 7-5, 4-4
and Tulane and Rice with losing records.
SMU and USM in the Championship Game.

That would be sweet. If SMU makes it to C-USA Championship Game could it be at Ford.
I won a package for the Palomar that might come in handy!!!
Go Willis and the Mustangs!

wow interesting yall have tulsa dropping that much.. i have nothing to back myself up, but i don't think they will have two years (last and this yr) like the previous two when they went to a bowl game in 2003 and then dropped off the face of th earth in 2004..
but as long as we are winning that is fine by me

Saw one hell of an improvement from y'all last year. Here's how I see the West shaking out.
SMU 9-3 (6-2) - West Champion
Tulsa 9-3 (6-2)
Houston 8-4 (5-3)
UTEP 6-6 (5-3)
Tulane 5-7 (4-4)
Rice 2-10 (2-6)
