Orsini said he had heard that UT would not want to play OU and SMU in Dallas in the same year which he said is false - hence 2 games in Dallas.

The 2 for one is 2 games in Austin and one game in Dallas.

Well now...let me see here...

The official report on attendance is as follows:

Austin 60
San Antonio 55
Houston 105

Extremely good stops at each event and our fans are very attentive to the coaches' messages. This year, the attendance numbers are significantly higher at each stop of the Tour.

Very gracious "host" homes in Austin (Eric and Joye Jones) and Houston (Gary and Sylvie Crum) served as spectacular venues for the coach's tour while the Marriott River Walk in San antonio made a good backdrop for San Antonio.

Judging by the response at the events, there is a "buzz" around SMU athletics that we have experienced since the early '80s.

San Antonio Coaches Visit

Postby New Braunfels Mustang » Sun May 28, 2006 4:00 pm

The San Antonio coaches visit was attended by 60 to 70 mustangs including Gene Phillips. My reaction to the coaches comments were similar to the ones posted. I did find Dougherty comments positive an upbeat. I am also an Orsini fan. I am a die hard mustang, graduated in 65 and member of the Mustang Club and have owned season tickets since Ford Stadium open. I believe the coaches tour is well worth the investment to the athletic program as it gives loyal mustangs a chance to meet the coaches which out of town ponies rarely get to do. There were also several Diamond club members in attendance. Looking forward to September. Go Ponies.
