Just be prepared. Whenever the NCAA or the University decides to reveal the true reasons behind the Tubbs departure, you will see plenty of coverage. This is getting to be a very tiring subject. If the DMN concentrated on SMU coverage, they would go out of business and then there would be none. You are correct that their circulation is dropping as it is with most all newspapers. If Al Gore had realized his internet invention was going to have this effect he might have held back on his discovery. The DMN is on this earth to sell as many papers as they can in order that they may please their share holders. At this time, promoting SMU is not the sizzle of the steak and thus no stories. I am very concerned that when the BB info is revealed we will be inundated with "here we go agian" stories much to the chagrin of not only our BB team but carried over to the FB recruiting as well. I can hear the opposing coaches telling the kids not to go play for the cheaters, even if they some how win 6 or 7 they will probably be ineligible for a bowl game due to probation. Leave the DMN alone and maybe they will leave us alone and when we start winning all will take care of itself.

I have made the same argument before. Tubbs should be happy he got all that money in the buyout.
As for the media coverage, I think they will do a press release detailing the self-imposed sanctions in July or August. Calvin will probably do a story detailing the penalties. Luckily, we got rid of the reason for the sanctions, so SMU doesn't look that bad.

I highly doubt any school-issued press release will provide much detail on anything. If any information comes out, it will come from the NCAA. The school now is focusing on selling Coach Doherty and building the practice facility, etc. This subject might never be cleared up. Coach T has his check, Coach D has a job. Let's move on.

Will do, Rumpelstiltskin. Boy, it's a sad day when one of the true SMU faithful loses interest in what is happening on the Hilltop, thanks to all the spin doctoring coming out of there.

For some reason, PK prefers that Ponyfans continues to be a burger discussion board. God forbid posters have differing opinions about a coach being fired, it is not near as exciting as PK and Stallion talking about Snuffers.

PK has more relevant opinions than a vast majority of the posters on this board (myself included, many would argue), and he even shows off by throwing in ideas that haven't been repeated a million times.

Shouldn't that be Rip Van Winkle? He's the one who slept for 20 years. Rumpelstiltskin was a dwarf who spun straw into gold.
