I can do some digging & find out the name and location of the place within a few days...to this point, to be honest, I figured someone else was on top of it. The bash is someone else's baby, and I don't like stepping on toes.
That having been said, it might be a good idea to touch base w/ Kristi Kaiser to see if they have any idea where the MC bash will be. If what an earlier post said is true and the MC doesn't have anything scheduled after the game, perhaps we could use the same place.
I'll handle calling some places, I just wanted to see if there were any preferences before I did. I started this, I'll finish it.

Its the Radisson on Central. Get up early and catch SW Airlines to NO.

And miss a Friday night in New Orleans? No way. This trip calls for a Friday night departure.

Then you need to stay at the Radisson on Thursday night if you want an SMU sponsored hotel.
BTW I am not on the list to go although Thad gave me a tentative. Can not make that one as much as I would like to.

I know most will want to stay in the quarter, but I don't really like paying to park, and prefer to be centrally located. We're staying at what used to be the Metairie Wyndham...now I think it's the Metairie Hotel, and it's pretty well centrally located. When I booked the room, it was competitively priced.
My wife suggested the Royal Sonesta had we wanted to be closer to the quarter, which most will recognize as the hotel from which Shepard Smith did his Katrina play by play.
Nicest hotel I've been to in NO is the W. The Westin is up there as well. Most overrated that I won't stay in again is the Four Points Sheraton. The Holiday Inn Express you can find on kayak.com is better than the Four Points.

Since when did people start ponying up for drinks for their maid....huh, never mind.

Actually, I believe they serve beer at the games in the superdome, if memory serves.

Last time I saw SMU at the Superdome, they served hard liquor.

My sweet wifey and I will be stopping in New Orleans on that Friday after a week on the beach at Destin. Hope all this talk of a party comes to reality as we will certainly participate.

I just got word from my Dad and Brother that they have tickets to the Jags-Cowboys game in Jacksonville on September 10th. They're flying in to Jacksonville on Saturday and asked me to join them at the game on Sunday. As much as I'd like to see our boys whip up on Tulane, golf, beers, Cowboys and seeing my Dad and Brother will keep me in the Sunshine State that weekend.
Mrs. JesuitPony and I hope to introduce our daughter to SMU football and the Boulevard for the Halloween game in Dallas. Hope to catch you guys then.

Well that's no problem. The SMU-Tulane game is three weeks later. Surely you'll be recharged from your weekend in Jax by then.

(borrowing a page from jtstang's notebook here) Hey, LHF68...can I have your seat at the Sam Houston State v UT game on Sept. 30th since you'll be in NOLA?

Nice. So a football schedule tells you when the games are being played, huh?
