Re: FSU,GT Threaten to Leave ACCAm I the only one who is taking this lightly? FSU and GT aren't bolting anywhere. Where do you think they're gonna go? Be realistic here.. they are just trying scare Duke and UNC into getting their act together. Two weeks max, and you'll be looking at a 12 member ACC.
Re: FSU,GT Threaten to Leave ACCDon't think FSU & Ga Tech would have options? Think about it; this is a war between the ACC and Big East for BCS survival. If the ACC says "no", what's to prevent the Big East from expanding to a 12 school football/18 school league? You don't think the current 8 schools would consider adding FSU, Ga Tech, Louisville & Maryland, if those ACC schools got "fed up" with Duke and Carolina? That's why S.Carolina left the ACC years ago. The Gamecocks languished in the Metro for a few years, but their football attendance ultimately landed them their SEC invite.
Stallion is right...Duke had better watch out or they will be another Tulane/SMU. How would the ACC look if they had to replace FSU, GT & Md with ECU, S.Fla & UCF? Think they'd retain that BCS berth??? The ACC started this. Now, they'd better hope they can finish the job! [This message has been edited by Charleston Pony (edited 06-11-2003).]
