I don't know who is going to win the starting job but I can tell you that Slater is a true Sleeper that many experts that work with QB's in the northwest expect to shine. Both Jack Thompson and Greg Barton have said to me that they felt he was PAC-10 starter material. If you don't know who they are, they have tutored QB's such as Kellen Clements, Ryan Anderson, Eric Ainge, Jason Gesser, and Alex Brink. Those guys all started in the Pac-10 or SEC. What I am trying to say is that you got yourself a good QB situation with two young QB's that have a bright future. One will win the job as starter but competition is a good thing. BTW, I have not read anything where coach Bennett named Willis as the starter in the spring. Only the media has stated that Willis won the job. IMO Bennett didn't name a starter because he knew that he had to evaluate Slater more once he had some time to learn the offense.

I propose:
The Tequila Mockingbird
Excellent idea. But what's in that drink (besides tequila)?
Apparently Mockingbird.
FWIW:
This does not solve our QB questions, but at Arkansas State they have their own controversy. They have 2 untested QBs and the coach has said he will rotate them during the out of conference schedule and have one prepared and picked by the conference season. I thought it humorous when they were speaking of experience the article mentioned that one of them had experience over the other because besides some spot play in the final 2 games, he had been the holder for extra points and field goals. Now there is some good QB experience. I guess that means Hasson should be starting for us due to his extensive experience on the field.

According to the DMN, there is a little competition at NTSCC as well.

Was that mentioned at the bottom of a UT article?

According to the article in the DMN!!!!! Willis is STILL the starter for the Tech game, wart and all. Hopefully this will now quell the rumors in what we shall forevermore call the Wartergate incident.

Leave it to mrydel to come up with the pun. But seriously, I'm glad he's getting that taken care of. We don't want anything to thwart his ability to perform on the field.

Hmmm, August & perrenial dumbasses...
Okay, will this will the first August that you don't bang the desk for Chris Phillips for QB?

Bennett needs to stick with ONE QB, period. If he stinks it up for a few weeks, then go with #2.
Remember the last few years:
Monday DMN, QB#1 starts
Tuesday DMN, QB#2 starts
Wed DMN, QB#2 starts
Thu DMN, QB #1 starts...
....it happened every week..

Don't kid yourself. The DMN didn't give us that kind of coverage.

That's because neither QB #1 nor #2 could seldom find it within himself to scrape together a win.
