I was at that game and due to attendance issues mrydel's seats were not available and me and a couple other SMU guys sat with some friends who went to Tech right in the middle of the Tech visitor's section on the east side (although the entire stadium looked like the visitor's section). We cheered loudly when the ponies did well, and jeered when the raiders did well, and while the Tech fans laughed and joked with us about the game, they were never disrespectful.
Maybe it's just you. I mean between UT and Tech, why do you always seem to bring out the worst in opposing team's fans?? Maybe you should look in the mirror?

I went to Lubbock once. Worst week of my life and I did not even stay over night. I figured you would be on your own for tickets there. By the way....San Diego is very nice. Thought I would check in while moping in my room for not playing golf.
When I grow up, I want to have your seats AND your technology. There is so much I could have told the ponyfans on my honeymoon in Hawaii, much of it thread-deletable, but I just did not have the technology.
Please call my boss and let them know my expertise in Technology. The bank I work for sold today and I am just trying to figure out if I still have a job when I get home. They told me to come on back when I was through here, but then said "do it under the cover of darkness", so I am not sure where I stand. Anyway, worst case is I may be more freed up to go to more SMU games.

You are high. The tech people around me were miserable. The OSU guys two years ago were tolerable.

Hello Stallion, what section are your seats in? And which table will you be sitting, at the kick-off lunch next week?

I reminded my wife that I hope that either a) Tech doesn't have a cannon, or b) our guys do a better job tackling.
Regarding the non-competitive stuff: do what I do. You must look at SMU as its own entity. If I compared my walk down the steps to my seats at Ford to my walk up the steps to our seats in Baton Rouge, I don't know that I could rationalize going to as many SMU games as I do.

That sounds a lot like having no expectations. Good for you. Go and enjoy the games for the sake of being out there for the games. Have no expectations for the mustangs, and you will not be disappointed in the losses, and you will be pleasantly surprised with the wins. Welcome aboard.

You might be interested to know that I have two seats in section 105. That is, if mrydel's seats are taken )

We do not have a cannon...but we do have a Saddle Tramp down in the endzone with the students that has two shotguns...

Or worse, an air-raid siren.
