It could happen...and monkeys might flight out of my butt...
...As part of the name change, the bowl announced Bell Helicopter as its new title sponsor.
The Fort Worth Bowl, going into its fourth year and played on TCU's campus, didn't have a title sponsor last year when Kansas of the Big 12 beat Houston of Conference USA.
*** This year's game is Dec. 23 and will match C-USA against the Mountain West.

After everything we've gone through the past 15+ years...I would take any bowl they give us.

The Fort Worth Bowl will supposedly now be named the Armed Services Bowl as part of its sponsorship by Bell Helicopters. Hmm...uh, ok.

I would think that since they named the bowl the Armed Services Bowl, they would have an option to give one of the slots to one of the Service Academies if they were bowl eligible.
I know Bell Helicopter is a big defense contractor, so maybe they influenced the name.

I'm guessing there will be some type of Service Academy tie-in as well. I think it's a good idea and hopefully will increase attendance with discounted tix for retired/current military, maybe bussing in troops like we've done for home games in the past. Anything to help put people in the stands, particularly when there is no local tie-in. I think it's in our best interest to see this bowl succeed as it gives all of us an additional bowl option.

My father is one of the primary aerospace engineers working on designing helicopters for the U.S. Government and he works an AWFUL LOT with Bell on Armed Services projects. The name is Bell's tribute to the uniformed officers which many of their products are operated by.
