SMU adds D-IA transfer safety

I know that one of the transfers was Ellis' high school teammate. He was the best defensive player on that Lamar team and the best defensive player in that district his senior year. Good pick up for the Ponies.

Linebacker Chase Kennemer.

Went to Texas A&M last year (not sure if he was a scholarship guy or not).

I saw Ben Poynter (who played with Ellis and Kennemer in high school) last week and asked how good these guys are. He assured me they're "not just bodies, these guys are players."

Will dig up more info and post as soon as I can.
