In the last 10 years, we are 8-2 vs. Tulsa.

If I were a Tech fan, I wouldn't be bringing up the SWC, since your greatest contribution was throwing tortillas on the field and consequently getting a rule passed banning the throwing of tortillas.

Indeed, God Bless the Big XII...

Seems Tech has had the same amount of title-chasing football success in THAT league as they did in the 'ol SWC...

Hope you have a great Saturday in Lubbock. My last trip there (1982) was one I will remember forever. Sorry I will miss this one.

I miss the days of throwing of tortillas. Damn you to hell Texas Tech.

You had to mention 1982. Actually the 1986 game, the last time you won, makes me just as sick. Down 13-7, we convert a fake punt late in the 4th. Going in for the score, we fumble (again, the 4th one I believe) and blow it. We still managed our first bowl game in 13 years that year, but we blew that game which would have been a sweet win. I don't remember exactly were you were ranked, but I believe it was in the Top 10.

No SMU was just about 6-4 after that win. SMU had just lost to a Murderer's Row of UT, A&M(Jackie Sherrill first big Aggie Win), and Notre Dame. Then we got blown out 41-0 the next week against Arkansas. Previous probations had taken a big bite out of the depth in our program by then We had a lot of quality though.

We played A and M and Texas close, so we could have had a decent year. We also had the NCAA thing hanging over our heads right around the tech game. I think Albert Reese got suspended somewhere in there, in addition to the Stanley issue.
