Did UNT find a QB?

Postby The PonyGrad » Tue Sep 05, 2006 10:22 am

Woody Wilson came in and hit five of six passes for 65 yards and a TD. Does this mean that UNT found a QB or was it just a result of garbage time? Should we be concerned?

Don't know about his throwing mechanics, but he is supposed to be pretty athletic, and we all know he's got an offensive coordinator who knows a thing or two about athletic QB play.

The starting QB Matt Phillips struggled with 4 of 13 passing for 22 yards and a total offense of -1 in 15 plays. It certainly was a different offense. :?

I don't think it's the qb position you need to be worried about with UNT. To me their biggest strengths are at RB and D-line.

They also had to throw the ball a lot, because they were way behind and getting zero yardage on the ground against UT.

That offensive coordinator might know something about athletic qb play, but he and the head coach don't have a clue about actually coaching offense. Would you mind taking the Dr. of Offense and Double D back?

Weren't they hailed as geniuses when Patrick Cobbs and Jamario Thomas were running for a million yards per game?

For what it's worth, Coach Bennett thinks very highly of Dickey, as a coach and as a person, and there are a lot of PonyFans out here with fond memories of the great Ramon Flanigan!
