Hoop Fan,

Just to clarify, our starting D pitched a shutout last night. SHSU's two long drives, scores and the bulk of their yards came against our second, third, etc. team D.

At the post game press conference I heard Bennett said that almost everyone who wasn't a redshirt got on the field last night. That may be a bit of an overstatement, but I saw a lot of unfamiliar names on the field last night late in the third and fourth quarters.

look, i thought the team played really hard last night. And we had an emotional edge to us. But the garbage time thing goes both ways. If you take Fred Turners late 70 yard scamper out of the stats, we didnt run the ball that great at all playing against a 1-AA opponent. Willis was awesome and i liked the play calling, especially the roll outs and tosses back across the field. those are hard for a defense to stop. And while we got some sacks on defense, Phillip Daughtery also had alot of time to throw on many many plays. that concerns me alot. We couldnt really get much pressure unless we brought the blitz. I enjoyed the night, but thats what i saw. Ark State is a critical game, and then the Tulane game looks very tough.

Arkansas St was off yesterday, so they will have two weeks to prepare for us. This will be a tough game for the Stangs to win.
