Did anyone else show up to root for the ponies? Is there any sort of LA alumni booster club that you know of? In the 8 year's I've been here, I think i've seen 1 person wearing an SMU shirt and one guy approached me in the gym when I was wearing mine and told me he was an alum. I've seen maybe 2 alumni car stickers.

Funny you should mention this.

I've been here since '94 & have yet to get any invitations or whatever regarding events scheduled for LA by SMU or the alumni org.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

I think I've gotten maybe a couple things inviting me to a Meadows lecture or an Engineering School fundraising campaign of some sort, but never any kind of social event. Think there used to be an LA area Alumni Assoc too, but I don't think it exists any more.

I think it moved to St. Louis with the Rams.

I remeber when we played UCLA there were quite a few SMU fans in attendance at the the rose bowl that afternoon ( I'm thinking 94 or 95)

I was thinking of going over to barney's Beanery but I had to take the kid trick or treating.

I thought it was ironic, on my drive into work I saw a couple walking a dog on PCH in Hermosa and the guy was sporting an SMU sweatshirt on Game day no less!!!!!

Go stangs get to a bowl, I'm going!

About the best I could do was go see them play at Fresno State a few years back.

I hope it wasn't the 42-0 woodshed whooping administered by the Bulldogs

In the late 90s, early 00s the So Cal Alumni Association was alive and well. We would often meet for happy hour in the Hollywood/BH area. I went with the group to a Stars/Kings game at Staples in 00 or 01. There was a nice turnout for that.

It was indeed the 42-0 pasting. That, along with having to spend a Saturday night in Fresno, made for a wonderful weekend.
