Drexler's has good brisket, but the sausage has good days and bad days. You can't go wrong with Drexler's brisket, but I take Frenchy's over Drexler's anyday. When Olajuwon and Drexler finished practice they went to Frenchy's. If only Dallas had something like Frenchy's. Sonny Bryans is some of the best bar-b-que I've ever had. I sure miss it. Wish Houston had a Sonny Bryans.

Williams Chicken is Dallas' version of Frenchy's.

Yes, Drexler's brisket is the best in Houston...avoid the sausage.

Sonny Bryan's is a shadow of its former self. Dickey's BBQ (Knox St. @ Central Expwy.) is the best in Dallas.

SMU has a good tailgating atmosphere on the Boulevard, too. In fact, it's really cool.

I have to comment on the "tailgating" at UH. It was a joke. There is this empty parking lot right next to the stadium that apparently is available for "tailgating" but it was barely 1/3 full by game time and I counted 1 SMU group to every 3 UH groups. Of course they wanted some ridiculous fee to be there but luckily nobody pays this fee but Andy Jackson apparently has lifetime access there so just show them his picture and tell them you are with him. I have seen better "tailgating" at high school games. I've also seen better stadiums at high schools as well.

As for the BLVD, all you need to do is find a nice parking spot near sorority row, bring your BBQ pre-cooked, a small cart, chairs, and a source for heat. The portable grill ain't half bad either if you don't mind lugging one around. That is exactly what we do and it works out great.

This looks like a marketing idea....

After the game, bring the kids onto the field for the first annual "Phil Bennett Toss"! Fun for the whole family!

Oh, and go to La Griglia and get me the boar chop special. And a pizza from Collina's in Rice Village would be good, too.
