Don't know if anyone is watching the Nebraska drubbing of Mizzou but during halftime of that game CJ called the great Joe Paterno an "Old Fart." Sure I might be over reacting about his comment but it was down right rude and uncalled for. Over this past month, many reporters have been let go due to comments they made while on air. I'm sure CJ won't be fired but his comment of Old Fart was not needed. Just thought I'd open up a thread about CJ and his continuous rude comments he makes during halftime

What does his professionalism (or lack thereof) have to do with SMU football? I'm tired of hearing about the guy.

Joe Paterno is an old fart. was handed the National Championship in '82 (because he was an old fart back then) when SMU earned it.

did this have anything to do with the injury to Paterno's leg which caused him to be taken off the field in a golf cart? As in Joe Pa has got to be careful when big football players come toward him on the sideline because he is an "old fart". Too bad nobody yelled "Hey Old Fart Get out of the way". Maybe he has a point. I keep waiting for someone to take out Mack Brown because of hid hip reconstruction surgery.

CJ made nice after the game. Said he was joking around at halftime, that Paterno's really a tough guy.

The "Old Fart" comment was before the injury occured. Don't know what all the fuss is about...I'm an old fart myself...so what?

It is disrespectful first off. Joe Pa is the face of that program. CJ should have more respect for someone who has been through all the ups and downs of a program. The SMU Lacrosse Club's founder and associate head coach, Don Newbury, is 88 years old, but one thing he is not is an "old fart."

In other words, a producer got to him and told him to apologize.

Yeah, old Craig James is still a little miffed that an old fart cost his
TEAM the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP simply becuz old Paterno was so
popular, and got his team voted for #1 in the last ranking polls in 82.
It's ice skating stuff, ban the BCS, and let the the playoffs begin

What he should have said is "I wonder if the hit knocked my championship ring off the old fart's finger"
